A Queen's Wrath by Dogviolet A Queen's Wrath by Dogviolet
This is the second final composition for an assignment of mine. This is the Greenlandic Inuit queen of the sea; the fish all have human eyes because they are all the women she has turned into fish. I rewrote Jorinda and Joringel by the brothers Grimm in Greenlandic Inuit culture; don't expect complete cultural accuracy!!

Anyway - sorry about the long delay! I had a massive assignment due, and loaaaads of homework - it will not happen again, I promise!

The contrast is very well done, and the fish kind of remind me of Ursula's "poor unfortunate souls". Also there's a kind of squished look that I don't know if it's deliberate, but makes them look like they're all in a fish tank.

This is simply breathtaking. The details and the perspective are well done, but maybe you could soften the shadows on her face a little.
Keep it up, you're very good:)

I really like how much detail there is in this, it makes it look like you could extend your hand and touch it :la: I also think that the colour scheme is really unique :3 The shading and lighting also adds to the realism of this piece.
great work! :3

This is a brilliant illustration. I love the story behind it! The only critique I have is the mermaid's face- something about it is slightly off. And a suggestion I'd have is to make the eyes of the fish more feminine to show that the fish were once women. Otherwise this piece is breath taking I think I've fainted. and super inspirational Meow :3   Keep up the great work Hug

Thank you so much! :D And especially thank you for leaving such indepth critique, it means a lot! Yeah, I agree, something isn't right there. I agree, I compromised perfection a little to enable me to get it in on time. That's an excellent idea, I hadn't thought about that! Thank you!

Aww, thanks so much again!!!
